About Awanachi

Awanachi is a Namwanga word meaning Women.

Awanachi Magazine Zambia’s only Women’s Lifestyle magazine that celebrates women through sharing their authentic stories of resilience, faith and determination. We share captivating stories of women, amplifying their voices and encouraging women to celebrate their uniqueness. We do this through our quarterly magazine publication-Awanachi.

Awanachi Magazine was Founded by Mrs.  Mpunga Chipepo Simukwai on 5^thMarch 2022 and was launched at a colorful event graced by Her Honour the Vice President of the Republic off Zambia who was represented by the former Minister of Information and Media Honourable Chushi Kasanda MP.

Other than profiling women based on the theme for the Issue, we cover wide range of topics from business insights, mental and women’s health, Corporate Space, décor, culinary, fashion and beauty, entertainment and sports.

Since inception we have distributed over 5000 hard and 4000 digital copies. We are currently selling copies in Shoprite Select stores, Bookworld and Grey Matter in Lusaka, Kitwe and Ndola,

As part of our Corporate Social Investment programme, and our commitment to fight period poverty, we launched the Awanachi Pads and Panties Campaign that aims to raise financial and material resources to purchase reusable pads and panties for girls in rural Zambia, At our 1 year anniversary in March,2023 we made a donation to over 1000 girls in Chikankata District.
